The Cutest Puppy Ever Part X

We finally made it! Number 10, the final edition, the last puppy in the Cutest Puppy Ever series. I hope you guys didn’t get tired of all these puppy pictures. I know I can never tire of pictures of puppies. Anyhow, this is the tenth and final puppy I’ve raised.

The final puppy in the series is Stetson, my first Guide Dog puppy in training. The inspiration of this blog.

The Cutest Puppy Ever – Stetson

Stetson is an absolutely awesome dog and he was an adorable puppy. Thank goodness he was so cute because he was by far the most difficult puppy to crate train. For those of you interested in crate training your puppy let me tell you…some puppies are easy and take to the crate right away i.e. Derby. While other puppies can take up to months to adjust to the crate i.e. Stetson. A quick not about Stetson: he was adorable, but during his first month he would not sleep more than 2 hours in a row and he would take anywhere from 10 minutes to 30 minutes of whining, crying, and howling before he’d fall asleep.

Stetson is a purebred black Labrador Retriever. He has a big block head and is not the most athletic dog. His legs are short and he’s on the stocky side (I think he’s adorable, but then again I may be biased).

Now for the good part…take a look at these adorable pictures of my little puppy in training. Nowadays Stetson is almost 2 years old and rarely ever barks. I’m not even sure what his bark sounds like.

The Cutest Puppy Ever Part IX

Sorry guys running a little late with this edition of the Cutest Puppy Ever. No worries, I’ll get together an article for our ninth and tenth puppies before the end of tonight.

Our ninth puppy is my favorite from puppy out of the seven German Shepherd mix. I told myself if Cocoa was the last puppy to be taken out of the litter I would keep her myself. That probably would have altered my entire puppy raising life. I probably would not have raised Stetson or Derby and I would have probably never had the chance to volunteer with Guide Dogs of America. However, Cocoa was adopted very early and I decided not to adopt any of the German Shepherd puppies.

Cocoa was an adorable black and tan German Shepherd mix puppy with a personality to match. Out of all the puppies I thought she was the most relaxed and even tempered. She had a lot more tan coloring around her ears then George, Sally, or Buttercup. The one thing I remember vividly about her was when she stole a large tomato from my sisters tomato garden. She had the little round orb in her mouth and ran around the yard while the other six puppies chased after her wanting her little treasure.

The Cutest Puppy Ever Part VIII

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone is having a great day, watching some football, eating lots of turkey, and of course checking out todays edition of the Cutest Puppy Ever!

Here’s our recap of the past seven cutest puppies ever:

Today’s puppy is Boots…can you guess why we named her boots. Well, she has adorable white boots on each of her feet. This puppy is a cross between a German Shepherd and a Labrador Retriever…we think.

The Cutest Puppy Ever – Boots

Boots was an adorable puppy. She was the second biggest puppy in the litter, but she was still much smaller then George. There were three light colored puppies in the litter and Boots was a cute little blond puppy with a dark muzzle and as I mentioned white boots on her feet. She was also the wild girl of the bunch and would sometimes be very calm while other times she loved to prance around the yard with all her puppy energy. I’d love to see this little girl today to see if she still has that wild side to her.

The Cutest Puppy Ever Part VII

It’s almost Thanksgiving day and today we give thanks to all those cute puppies out there. I was lucky enough today to see a new puppy joining or guide dog group. A little female black Labrador Retriever who was absolutely adorable and did I mention small…she was teeny!

The Cutest Puppy Ever – Brisby

Anyways back to The Cutest Puppy Ever and today’s puppy is Mrs. Brisby from the German Shepherd litter. This puppy looked like a combination of all the puppies in the litter. She had a dark muzzle like the black and tan puppies, but instead of a dark coat she had a light colored coat like Blondie although her’s was more of a gray color. She was a sweet little puppy and loved to tag along with her sisters in brother. Out of all the puppies in her litter she was most shy and just a little bigger than Buttercup the runt.

I’m not sure if you caught her name, but Mrs. Brisby came from the movie (or book) The Secret of Nimh. The lead mouse in the movie was Mrs. Brisby and this little puppy reminded me of her.

The Cutest Puppy Ever Part VI

Welcome back to the Cutest Puppy Ever! If you’ve been following along then you probably noticed that I’m adding links to all the articles at the bottom of the page. Here’s the quick recap:

That brings us to puppy number six. We return to the German Shepherd litter of puppies and representing the only boy in the is George a beautiful black and tan German Shepherd puppy.

The Cutest Puppy Ever – George

George was by far the largest puppy in the German Shepherd mix litter. He was at least twice the size of Princess Buttercup. When I picked him up from the shelter one of the attendants said he looked a little bit like a Coonhound because his ears were much longer and floppier then the other puppies in the litter. I’d have to agree although his ears were no where near the length of a Coonhound.

Lucky for me George was adopted by my brother and his wife. I get to see him all the time and he’s an absolutely adorable dog. While I was fostering George I was told that German Shepherds are lap dogs…George definitely lives up to being a lap dog…he’s 80 pounds and he loves sitting on your lap!

Puppy In Training Blog Carnival #2

Welcome back to another edition of the Puppy In Training Blog Carnival. If you missed last weeks blog carnival then please take a look at our inaugural Puppy In Training Blog Carnival. This weeks blog carnival features two articles on your dog’s diet from two separate blogs and a third article on how to potty train your dog.

Puppy In Training Blog Carnival

Our first article comes from the Roxy Dawg Blog. Roxy Dawg is an adorable bulldog with her own website. Her article is on doggie diet. In her own words Roxy tells us how she did not want to eat her food and how her parents resolved this issue. For more information visit the full article at Doggie Diet. I also wanted to thank Roxy Dawg and her parents for posting our blog carnival information in their sidebar.

Article number 2 comes from the Breeds of Dog website. The Breeds of Dog website covers the many different breeds of dogs and also includes helpful training information including this weeks article: Potty Training your Puppy. Great tips on potty training! We use crate training to house train our puppies.

The Cutest Puppy Ever Part V

Does everyone have a case of the Mondays? Well I’m glad you could tune in for today’s issue of the Cutest Puppy Ever. And be thankful that it’s a short week…for most people. I’m lucky enough to have this Thursday and Friday off for Thanksgiving weekend…YAY!

Well let’s round up the first four puppies in the Cutest Puppy Ever Series. First, there was Linus the Aussie Shepherd mix and adorable puppy if I must say so myself. Then number 2 was Princess Buttercup the German Shepherd mix. Number 3 was Blondie the cute blonde puppy who is possibly a yellow lab mix. Contestant number 4 was Sally our second black and tan German Shepherd mix.

On to number 5…Derby the yellow Labrador Retriever

Derby is the youngest of all these puppies. He’s currently just over 6 months old and still is not full grown. He’s a yellow Labrador Retriever training to be a Guide Dog. Derby is an adorable puppy and is always happy. He’s still in his puppy stages and as we speak he still gets those puppy zoomies where he sprints back and forth uncontrollably. It’s a sight to see.

The Cutest Puppy Ever Part IV

It’s Sunday and the weekend is coming to and end…time for Part IV of the Cutest Puppy Ever. Just like the other posts we’ll start with a quick recap:

Linus the Australian Shepherd mix was our first puppy.
Princess Buttercup the German Shepherd mix was our second puppy.
Blondie the German Shepherd Labrador Retreiver mix? was our third puppy.

That brings us to our fourth puppy in the Cutest Puppy Ever series. Our fourth adorable, cute puppy is Sally the German Shepherd mix.

The Cutest Puppy Ever – Sally

Another one of the German Shepherd mix litter. Sally was lucky enough to get that black and tan German Shepherd look. At approximately four weeks of age she was adorable and the first from the litter to be adopted by a loving family.

Sally had a great personality and that was probably why she was the first puppy adopted in the litter. She had a slightly lighter color then the other black and tan puppies and as I mentioned earlier she was absolutely adorable. Here are a few photos.

The Cutest Puppy Ever Part III

Here we are on the weekend with Part III of the Cutest Puppy Ever! Did you see Contestant I and II? Linus, the Australian Shepherd mix was featured in Part I of the Cutest Puppy Ever. Part II showed our first female contestant, Princess Buttercup a German Shepherd mix from the Riverside Shelter. If you missed those posts take a look at these links:

Contestant number III is also from the Riverside shelter and her name is Blondie. Check out her biography below.

The Cutest Puppy Ever – Blondie

Straight from the litter of German Shepherd puppies was an all blonde puppy that looked nothing like a German Shepherd. We eventually assumed that this litter of puppies must have had two (or more) fathers and wrote this short article: Can A Litter Of Puppies Have More Than One Father? Blondie is from the same litter as Princess Buttercup…they sure don’t look like sisters.

Blondie was a little feisty girl and always seemed to get her way among all the other puppies. As far as I could tell she seemed to be one of the more dominant puppies in the litter. We assume that the mother was a German Shepherd, but Blondie’s father may have been a yellow Labrador Retriever…What do you think? Here’s her portfolio of photos:
