5 Awesome Star Wars Dog Costumes

This post may contain affiliate links. We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Yep, I am an UBER GEEK! That’s why I had to put together a star wars dog costumes post to go along with my two other Halloween dog costumes blog posts.  However, even if you are not an uber geek star wars fan like me I think you’ll appreciate these ultra cool, (mostly) custom dog costumes.

I am not at all a crafty person, but I do my best to get my pups dressed up in semi-original dog costumes.  As guide dog puppy raisers we are encouraged to dress up our puppies in Halloween costumes as it allows us to handle our puppies paws, tails, bodies, face, and ears in different ways.  We recently wrote an entire post about why we dress up our pups in costumes so check it out.

My 5 Favorite Star Wars Doggy Costumes On The Net

We love sharing these wonderful images with everyone.  I did my best to find the original source to link back, but it’s difficult to tell where these originally came from.  If any of the images belongs to you please let me know and I will reference your site and link back to you or if you prefer I can remove the image entirely.

#5 – The Two Legged Star Wars Outfit

To kick things off we had to go with these silly two legged store bought star wars costumes because they always make us laugh!  By the way I have heard that the black dogs look great in the Darth Vader outfit (affiliate link).

#4 – Who Remembers Return of the Jedi and those cuddly Ewoks?

Ewoks Dog Halloween Costumes
Cute little Ewoks! Source: Blog Removed

My brother dresses up as an Ewok for Halloween every once in a while, but he’s not nearly as cute as these little pups.  Simple outfits and they look great, but your dog definitely has to have the right look to pull it off as well as these two.  This costume really makes you think that George Lucas must have been influenced by dogs when coming up with the Ewoks.

#3 – The Coolest Chewbacca Costume We’ve Ever Seen

Star Wars Chewie Dog Costume

I love the simplicity of this costume and the Ewok costume.  I’ve read that Chewbacca’s inspiration came from George Lucas’ own dog named Indiana (inspiration for another movie maybe?).  However, from what I recall Indiana was an Alaskan Malmute.  This little guy is definitely not an Alaskan Malamute, but whatever breed he is he certainly makes a great Chewbacca and just like Chewie riding shotgun on the Millennium Falcon this pup also gets to ride shotgun…

#2 – Wampa Ice Creature…The Cute Version!

I love this Wampa ice creature dog costume!  If you visited the ice planet of Hoth and saw a bunch of these little guys running around what would you do?  Probably run up and give them all a hug.  By the way, if you’re a star wars fan you have to check out the Wampug Facebook page and StarWarsChick.com…too cool!

#1 – The Awesome AT-AT Dog Costume!

Dog Halloween Star Wars AT-AT Costume
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! This AT-AT costume really brings out my inner geek.  Source: Bones Mello

We first saw the AT-AT dog costume last year and we were absolutely floored!  This has to be the coolest dog Halloween costume we’ve ever seen.  The details on this thing are amazing.  Even if you’re not a star wars fan you have to appreciate this one.  There’s tons of great information about the making of the AT-AT costume on the Bones Mello, the AT-AT dog Facebook page.  Check it out!  It’s pretty awesome!

Do you dress your dogs up for Halloween?  What kind of costume are you going to dress your dog up in this year?  Tell us about it in the comment section below.

  1. LOVE IT! Especially Chewbacca, it was simple but cute.

I am not one that usually dresses up my dogs, but after seeing this I think I am going to get creative and dress my little guys as Star Wars Characters. Hopefully it is half as good as these.

  2. No AT-AT, but that was a cute video. I think my boys would make good dark lords of the sith!

I can’t wait to see what you come up with. We have our guide dog Halloween party next week so hopefully I’ll have a few more doggy Halloween costumes to share.

  3. I KNEW that AT-AT had to make the list! It is complete and total awesomeness! And, to share the fun, I’ll leave this video with you. If it doesn’t appeal to your inner Star Wars geek, well, then I don’t know what will. I laugh every time I watch it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJhrj-I_bKU

I still haven’t decided what to do for our Halloween costumes this year. Part of it is because I don’t know which of the dogs my husband is planning on taking, and we usually coordinate the costumes. Usually I see something and then it sparks an idea for me, but it hasn’t happened yet.
