Puppy In Training Blog Carnival 2010

It’s kind of funny, but as of October, 2009 I shut down and did not schedule any new Puppy In Training Blog Carnivals.  However, I continue to receive submissions from the blogcarnival.com website.  If I continue to receive blog carnival submissions I will continue to post the Puppy In Training Blog Carnival.  So please feel free to either submit through the Blog Carnival website or leave me you submissions in the comment section below.

Online Dog Training

Blogs are great and are often times full of wonderful information.  Online Dog Training was not available to us in the early 90′s.  However, today we can go to our favorite blog and just simple read the online dog training tip of the day.  Here are a few blogs offering tips on how to train your dog.

Send Her To The Crate presented by the Best Dog Crate Review Blog.  A few short tips on how to crate train your dog.  Stetson, Linus, and Derby were all crate trained and I highly recommend you crate train your dog as well.

Dog Training – Adapt Your Methods to Fit the Breed presented by Pet Prattle and Products. This is one of those articles that I wish would have had more detail.  You could probably write an entire book on adapting your training methods to fit a dog breed.  However, I would like to see more information in this area.  Unfortunately, I couldn’t leave a comment on this blog and if the blog owner reads this comment I’d very much be interested in seeing more resources on this subject.

Crap! Curb your Dog! presented by JERKLogic. You ever step in dog poop.  It’s maddening and so too agree the folks over at JERKLogic.

Archives for Small Dog Training presented by the Small Dog Training Blog.  You’ll find many articles here regarding small dog training.  While this is not an individual article it does offer a great resource for people interested in Online Dog Training.

Key Differences Between Dog and Puppy Training presented by Dog Training Pet.  Some interesting information on the differences between training an adult dog and a puppy.  I’ve raised puppies and they have grown into fine adults, but haven’t had as much experience with rescuing adult dogs.  We rescued our family dog, Maffy, a border collie mix and a purebred German Shepherd while volunteering with a local rescue.  However, at the time I did not really consider the differences in training puppies and adults.  Check out this article for more information.

Puppy Training

A New Puppy? Now Comes House Training! presented by The Dog Lover’s Blog. This article has some great tips on how to house train your puppy.  If you’re on the verge of bringinig home a new puppy I urge you to check out this article on some of the basics of potty training.

Puppies! presented by (Mis)adventures.  Who can resist puppies?  First off their are some adorable puppy pictures on this post.  That being said the article brings to light the upcoming Puppy Bowl and Puppy Therapy at universities.  Check out the article for more information.

Dog Products

Finding Frontline For Less presented by PetPip.  I currently use Frontline, but I’m looking for a greener alternative.  I’ve come across home remedies, but would love to hear others experience with eco-friendly, green ideas for keeping fleas and ticks off your dog.  Theres’ also a cute, short puppy pee video embedded in the article.

Miscellaneous Dog

25 Common Foods That Can Be Toxic for Your Pet presented by Veterinary Technician Schools Online.  This is a good resource of things you should not feed your dog.  Some of the most common food can be poisonous like grapes and raisins.   Be sure to take a look at this list.

Top 10 Celebrity Pets: Famous Cats and Dogs presented by The Pet Gazette.  Who do you think is number 1?  I’ve never heard of many of these pets, but I do know all the celebrities.  I think most people will recognize celebrity pet #1.

An Interview with Guffly mascot, Soy presented by Guffly.  I like this website and they often times have great products advertised on their blog.  However, today they wanted to advertise one of their mascots named Soy.

That’s it for this edition of the Puppy In Training Blog Carnival.  If you’d like to submit an article to our carnival please leave us a note in the comments section below.

Blog Carnival #13 – Pets and the Economy, Fleas, Dog Foods and More

Welcome to the the latest edition of Puppy In Training blog carnival.  This edition includes many great articles from dog flea treatments to the actual cost of a puppy.  Great participation this month and thanks to everyone who submitted an article to this month blog carnival.  Without further ado here’s this months carnival:

Dog Food

Sue Vinsant presents Some Common Foods You Should Avoid Giving Your Dog « posted at A Dog Lover’s Blog, saying, “Sometimes it seems like a dog will eat almost anything. It can be very tempting to share what you are eating because of those big eyes that follow every move that you make. You may find yourself tempted to slip your pal some scraps from the dinner table. Before you do, however, you should know that there are some foods you should never feed to your dog. Some of them may surprise you!”  This is a very important article for all dog owners to eat.  Recently one of my friends gave a couple grapes to one of my dogs and immediately I remember reading this list and let them know that grapes and raisins can actually kill a dog.  Lucky for Stetson was okay after eating two grapes.  As Sue mentions in her quote above “…Some of them (foods) may surprise you!”

Pet News

Diana L Guerrero presents How to Avoid Counterfeit Flea Treatment Products posted at Flea Control Secrets: How To Get Rid of Fleas & Live Flea Free!, saying, “In this post, readers learn how to avoid counterfeit flea treatment products.”  I never really thought about counterfeit flea treatment until a couple years ago when my mother brought up that it was possible to order counterfeit flea treatment online and to be careful who you order your products from.  Diana includes a two great slide shows: one showing counterfeit packaging and the other showing legitimate packaging.  After watching the videos I can see that it would be very difficult to spot the counterfeit flea treatment products.

Pets

The Pet Chatter presents pet identification: microchip vs. tattoo posted at Pet Chatter, saying, “Permanent identification gives pet owners peace of mind. But what is the best option?”  I never really thought too much about microchip vs tattoo as I did not have the option with Stetson, Linus, or Derby.  Each of my last three puppies received a microchip before they were ever in my custody.   However, after reading this article I would definitely consider tattoo over microchip and would probably further research the two methods of identification before choosing either option.

Big Larry presents helping your pet through a tough economy posted at Out of Debt Christian, saying, “Your puppy may not have an investment portfolio, but that doesn’t mean the recession isn’t effecting them. Here’s some great advice on how to save money on your pet without making sacrifices.”  If you’re in a pinch for money in this tough economy this article covers some steps you can take to help save on your pet expenses.

SVB presents the cost of living with pampered pets in luxury and some really weird pet products posted at The Digerati Life, saying, “Thanks!”  After reading Big Larry’s article on saving money on your pets we swing the pendulum to the other side.  Most of the pet products listed in this article are definitely considered a luxury.  However, many pet parents have the money and love to spoil they’re pets.  The end of this article does bring up some points on how you can save money with your pet as well.

Puppy

Darwin presents how much is that puppy? The most detailed dog cost analysis you’ve ever seen posted at Darwin’s Finance, saying, “Would you be surprised if I told you that puppy will cost you close to $100,000 over its lifetime? Well, don’t be. This detailed analysis evaluates both the lifetime cost and Net Present Cost of that puppy – too many people naively buy a puppy without truly understanding the costs involved.”  This article is a real eye opener.  I know I spend a lot on my dog, but I didn’t know that over his lifetime I’d be spending close to $100K?  This is a great and detailed article showing you how much a puppy really can cost you.  Also, if you recall, I wrote about one of my friends and his dog’s veterinarian expenses during their first few years together.

Patti Lecron presents INDOORS, OUTDOORS by P.B. Lecron posted at A French Education.  Have you had issues housebreaking your puppy?  So did the author of this article.  The author discovers an innovative way to teach her dog how to pee outside in the yard rather than in the house.

Canines

Jake presents The All-Natural Diet for Dogs: Three Questions and Answers posted at Dog Training Pet.  Great article on dog food.  By the way, I feed my dogs Natural Balance and my pups are gaining weight.  Anyone else notice this with their dogs?

Robin presents Professional Dog Walkers posted at Your Dog Supply Blog.  Some good reasons why you should walk your dog and why you might need a professional dog walker.

Marina presents Loving Standard Poodles posted at Dogs Info Planet.  We have a few standard poodles in the guide dog program.  They are very intelligent dogs.

Debbie Foster presents Why Spay and Neuter posted at Pet Prattle and Products.  Check out the statistics posted about spay and neuter and how quickly dogs and cats can reproduce.  A real eye opener.

swapnil warang presents switch2life: Funny Animals………..Part 3 posted at switch2life.

John Phillips presents Uno, Westminster Kennel Club, and Animal Employment Protection Act | The Word posted at The Word, saying, “Are you aware of Animal Employment Protection Act?”  Check out the youtube clip on the Animal Employment Protection Act.

Dog Training

00FF00 presents Basic Pet Care – DOGS posted at ooffoo, saying, “A member of the ooffoo community and ex-animal-shelter-worker has created an extensive guide to dog health, care and training.”

Pet Products

Jeffrey F presents Best Rated Vacuum for Pets Hair Miele, Not Dyson | Who Moved My Bone? posted at Who Moved My Bone?.  Hmmm…this could be my next vacuum as I know a Bernese Mountain Dog can put any suction device to the test.  I currently have an 8 month old Dyson that is still going strong, but maybe I’ll try the Miele if the Dyson cuts out.

Puppy Training

Jake presents How to Stop a Puppy from “Nipping” posted at Dog Training Pet.  Nipping can be a real problem with puppies.  Check out this article for some information on how to remedy puppy nipping.

Valerie Mills presents Are YOU Training Your Dog or Is HE Training You (1 of 6)? posted at Designer Puppys, saying, “This is 1 of 6 blogs about training dogs using my puppy Alvin as an example.”  A great question as I’ve seen most dog owners are being trained by their dogs. This is part 1 of 6 in the series.

Thank you everyone for submitting your articles.  Please keep in mind to only submit one article per blog per blog carnival.

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of puppy in training carnival using our Blog Carnival submission page.

Blog Carnival: Mosquitos, Dog Food, Pet Care, Socialization, Puppy or Dog, Wedding Pets, Exotic Pets

I wanted to get a more descriptive title for this months edition of the Puppy In Training blog carnival. Speaking of editions this is the eleventh also known as XI!Dog Training Tips

Looking at the title it sure is a lot to cover. Pets and Mosquitos, Homemade Dog Food, Pet Care, Socializing Your Dog, Choosing a Puppy or Dog, Pets as Wedding Atendants, and Exotic Pets. Perhaps in the future we’ll work on targeting specific topics rather than the shotgun approach. For now, on with the show!

Blog Carnival

All About Rearing Exotic Pets – Are you interested in an exotic pet. Check out the article: All About Rearing Exotic Pets for information before you make the decision to purchase that exotic pet. Speaking of exotic pets check out these miniature pet pigs called Royal Dandies.

Pets and Mosquitos – Our first article comes from the Mosquito Info blog and covers the topic of Pets and Mosquitos. The author mainly focuses on Dogs, Cats, and Horses and talks about several viruse passed by mosquitos including heartworm and west nile. We use Frontline to prevent flea and tick infestation and Heartguard or Interceptor to prevent Heartworms in our dogs.

Pets As Wedding Attendants – I’ve often considered Pets as wedding attendants. One of my friends had their dog join them at the reception. This article gives many things to consider before including your pet in your wedding. I would feel comfortable with Stetson at my wedding, but I think Linus might freak out with all the people and strange activity.

Homemade Dog Food – Now this is a subject I might investigate more in the future. Right now I feed my dogs Natural Balance kibble. By the way, the idea mentioned that dog food manufacturers have not your dogs interest at heart, but your money is sure a valid point. Check out the homemade dog food article for more information. As mentioned in the article there are hundreds probably thousands of recipes listed just by googling, but I also wanted to mention that one of the free bonuses when purchasing the Secrets to Dog Training is an e-book about Gourmet Dog Food Recipes.

Don’t Skimp on Pet’s Care – A good reminder for everyone out there. The article talks about teeth and cleaning and how they may have saved several hundred dollars by being more proactive with there Cairn Terriers teeth. Don’t Skimp on Pet’s Care is just as important as not skimping on your own health or families health (afterall the dog is part of the family). We try to brush our dogs teeth at the minimum once a week. However, it has been recommended to brush daily.

How To Properly Socialize Your Dog – This article has some great tips on how to properly socialize your dog. All three of my dogs have been socialized since they were puppies and each has their own little problems. Stetson is good in most social situations, Linus gets nervous, and Derby gets overly excited. Check out this article for some hints on socializing your dog.

Should You Get A Puppy Or An Adult Dog – This is a very interesting article and a point that often comes up when I discuss getting a new dog with potential dog owners: Should You Get A Puppy Or An Adult Dog? There are definitely pros and cons for both puppies and adults. Check out this article for more information about dogs and puppies.

I hope you enjoyed the puppy in training blog carnival XI. Thank you everyone for contributing and we’ll see you next time.

Puppy In Training Blog Carnival #10

Welcome back to a nother edition of the Puppy In Training blog carnival!  It’s been a while and we’ve been waiting for a few more blog carnival entries before posting this edition.  This month we have everything from dog training tips to Hypoallergenic dogs to doggy diets.

Hypoallergenic Dogs

Lately I’ve been hearing a lot about hypoallergenic dogs.  I think all the fuss has to do with President Obama and his recent search for a family dog.  Just in case you haven’t heard the first family adopted Bo a Portugeuse Water Dog.  URDogTraining.com put together an article to help us understand a little more about Hypoallergenic Dogs.

Dogs Diet – Fiber

The Dog Strollers Plus blog covers an area I really never gave much thought.  While I understand the importance of fiber in my own diet I never really considered my dog.  Does Your Dogs Diet Include Fiber? answers questions about fiber and it’s importance to your dog.

Dog Barking

I come across this question all the time:  How do I stop my dog from barking?  Buy Dog Beds offers Dog Training Tips to Help Stop Excessive Barking.  Two of my three dogs don’t bark much, but the third whines and barks quite a bit when he’s in the company of other dogs.  I’ll have to try some of these tips next time I’m out and about.

Dog Costumes

One of our favorite things are dog costumes and at Patsy’s Ponderings we see several dressed up dogs at the Doggie Easter Parade.  It looks like a great time was had by all at the Easter Parade.  I wish we could have had something similar in our area for my three dogs.

Dog Lover

If you go to the Cute Dog and Puppy Pictures blog you won’t see only cute pictures.  There’s also some great articles and the one submitted to our carnival covers the reason Why I Love My Dog.  A great article and it reminds me of some of the reasons why I love my dog as well.

That’s it for this months edition of the Puppy In Training blog carnival.  Hope to see you all next month!

Puppy In Training Blog Carnival #8

Welcome back to another edition of the Puppy In Training Blog Carnival.  This is our eight edition and I thought I’d do something slightly different with the formatting.  We have five submissions this month and I’m going to feature my favorite submitted article first as the editor’s choice.  In the future as we have more submissions I’ll also do my best to categorize each article.

Anyhow, lets get started with the Editor’s Choice Award:

Editor’s Choice

  • The Organic Family Circle blog put together a very helpful article on pet allergies and how these allergies can be treated organically.  In the article: Healing Your Pet’s Allergies as well as Your Own Can Often Be Done Organically! Try Using Organic Feeds and Supplements it mentions many possible causes and solutions to your pets allergies.  Stetson, my Labrador Retriever has had a skin allergy and it seems to have cleared up after changing his diet to hypo-allergenic feed just as it’s mentioned in the article.  If you’re having issues with allegies and your dog you might want to take a peak at this article.

Blog Carnival Featured Articles

  • Dog Training Step By Step really gives you step by step rules on how to be the alpha dog in your house.  How to become your dog’s Alpha dog gives 9 tips several of which I’ve heard from my trainers on how to become the alpha dog.  The article reminds me a lot of the Cesar Millan DVD’s I watched not too long ago and it talks about how the dog is a descendant of wolves and how understanding the behavior of wolves will help you understand your dog.  Check out the article to see the 9 steps towards becoming the alpha dog.
  • I never thought about getting an impression of my dog or puppy’s paw, but that’s exactly what Baby Footprint Graphic Blog talks about in Creative Paw Prints and Impressions – Ideas For Creating That Lasting Memory of Your Pet.  I totally agree that after your dog passes you can never have enough pictures, videos, and other memento to remind you of your dog.  Heck, I still wish I had more pictures of my dogs as puppy’s!  There are some great ideas on how to get that “oh-so-valuable” paw impression, so when you have a chance check out this article.
  • Training Fido teaches how to keep your dog from jumping on people when you have visitors at the front door.  How to teach Fido not to jump on people gives some great pointers on things you can do to keep your dog calm when you have visitors at the door.  This is definitely a problem I run into with my three dogs.  We’ve worked on it on and off, but as I’ve mentioned time and time again on this blog you need to be consistent with your training and expect good behavior from your dogs everytime.
  • What would a Blog Carnival be without a funny photo?  Take a look at this image of Dick Cheney’s dog at the Cute Dog and Puppy Pictures Blog.  Sorry, the title of the article kind of gives it away: Instead, It Turns Out Dick Cheney’s Dog Was Darth Vader!

I hope you enjoyed this edition of the Puppy In Training Blog Carnival.  If you’re interested in submitting an article then please go to the contact form or leave me a comment in the comment section below.

Puppy In Training Blog Carnival #7

Welcome to another edition of the Puppy In Training Blog Carnival. We have several great articles in this edition. It seems like we’ve got everything for the dog lover in this carnival from a cantaloupe eating Malamute, dog training tips, even some great puppy t-shirt artwork

On with the blog carnival!

Blog Carnival #7

One of the reasons I love hosting the Puppy In Training Blog Carnival is it introduces me to many new blogs and website that I never would have discovered on my own. One of those sites is Carl Jagt’s Saturday Morning Tee of the Week. I’m going to assume that the Saturday Morning part of the title has something to do with Saturday Morning cartoons? Hopefully Carl will chime in and explain the motivation for his site title. Robot VS Puppy is an adorable concept for a t-shirt..I’m actually considering purchasing a few shirts for my dog lover friends. BONUS Material: after the image there’s entire write up explaining the inspiration for the drawing. If you want to check out the adorable image plus other great t-shirt concepts visit Carl Jagt’s Saturday Morning Tee of the Week.

Article #2 is our cantaloupe eating Alaskan Malamute starring in I May Be Housing A Fugitive. Written in a news story style you have to check out the damage this Alaskan Malamute did to an unsuspecting cantaloupe that was sitting on the counter. It reminds me of my little Puppy In Training, Derby who is a master at picking things up of the ground, couch, and tables. We’re working on it and he kind of understands the words “Drop It”

Our third article comes from a familiar site the Training Fido blog. This week’s article is about clicker training: Clicker Train Fido to Sit. This article is a great introduction to clicker training and gives you the basics on what clicker training is and how to get started. We worked on clicker training for a short period of time with Linus. His first trainer wasn’t that into clicker training, but she gave us an introduction and the concept of the training technique.

If you’re reading titles then it’s fairly self explanatory what the Dog Training Step-by-Step blog is about. This weeks article is very helpful indeed and is titled Don’t let Fido Pull You. This is something I’m constantly working on in dog obedience class. It seems like some dogs like to pull while others don’t want to walk at all.

How Pet Owner’s Can Deal With Dog Aggression is a great article on…you guessed it how to curb dog aggression.  One thing I’d like to point out in this article is “Start Early”  This is good advice and it’s important to expose your puppy to different environments, people, and situations at an early age, but you must also be careful that you do not over expose your puppy.  Make sure all of your activities are age appropriate for your puppy.

This is the exact question I was asking before I picked up Linus from the animal shelter… Finding A Reputable Dog Breeder. Technically it’s not a question, but you understand. This article gives you 8 questions you should be asking any breeder before buying a puppy. After reading this article you will definitely have a good idea of how to find a good breeder.

That’s it for this issue of the Puppy In Training Blog Carnival. If your interested in submitting an article to our next carnival please leave a comment below or submit your information through my contact form.

Puppy In Training Blog Carnival #6

Welcome back to another edition of the Puppy In Training Blog Carnival. We added a few new rules to try and generate more participation and it seems to be working out for everyone. Of course our goal at the Puppy In Training Carnival is to try and create community and I encourage everyone to visit the links and leave comments on these other blogs.

Puppy In Training Blog Carnival #6

We have four submissions for this edition of the blog carnival. To get things started we have our first post simply labeled Puppy Pictures from the blog A Very Nearly Tea. It’s often times difficult to take pictures of your puppy…good pictures that is. That’s exactly what this article is about: getting the perfect puppy pictures. We had a similar article about taking pictures of Stetson and the difficulty we had getting good shots of him as a puppy. Check out Puppy Pictures to see Copper the Beagle and Hunter the Lab mix.

Our second article comes from Training Fido and teaches How To House Train a Dog – Easy Steps. This article list some of the tell tale signs of when your dog needs to go to the bathroom which is a key part of house training your dog. If you need some hints on how to house train your dog check out this article. One other thing mentioned in this article is consistency which is something we preach and is imperative when house training your dog.

Our next article covers the same subject as article 2…Housetraining A Dog, Potty Training A Puppy.  Some more great tips on house training your dog.  One thing that is mentioned in this article is controlling food/water intake and knowing your dogs pee/poop schedule.  Definitely check out this article if your having issues with doggy potty accidents in the house.

Finally the Dog Training blog covers one of our favorite breeds the German Shepherd Dog Training Essentials. The German Shepherd Dog is one of the most famous breeds around the world and a true working dog. It has also become most famous as a pet dog. They are very easily trained and loves to please their masters. This article describes the
essentials of owning and training a German Shepherd Dog.

Thanks to all the submitters for participating in the Puppy In Training blog carnival.  We’ll see you all next time!

Puppy In Training Blog Carnival #5

Welcome back to another episode of the Puppy In Training Blog Carnival.  We made a few changes this week in hopes of creating more interaction and community in this edition of the blog carnival.

Two out of our four articles cover dog costs and how to save money when owning a dog.  I must say this definitely reflects the current economy and how each and everyone of us is looking for different ways to save money.

Puppy In Training Blog Carnival #5

Our first article tackles the problem of how to handle problems when a dog co-exists with a child.  The Baby-Log.com blog covers some important points in the article Kids and pets need to learn mutual respect.  The first rule mentioned in the article is probably one of the most important:  Play under supervision only. – If I can’t watch the kid and the dog every single second, they are not allowed to play.  Although I don’t have children my guide dog puppy has the same rule.  He’s only allowed to play with my other two dogs under supervision only.  Derby my guide dog puppy can often times get out of control and he must learn appropriate play with other dogs.

All of us here at Puppy In Training do our best to try and help out with dog adoptions and fostering.  Our second article from the Money Theory blog goes over the story of adopting two wonderful dogs.  If you’re interested in adopting a dog and would like to save a little money then check out our second article: Adopt a pet from your local shelter, and save money! We took that route and adopted Linus our Australian Shepherd mix from the shelter and we haven’t regretted that decision one bit!

Our third article from the Condo Blues blog tackles an issue I haven’t encountered just yet and that is trying to answer the question: Have You Ever Put An Active Dog On Complete Bed Rest? It’s Not Easy… I’ve always wondered how to put dogs on bed rest.  My friends American Staffordshire Terrier had two knee operations and had to be on bed rest.  I had another friend who’s Yellow Labrador Retriever was on bed rest for elbow dysplasia.  The list goes on and on and I’m pretty certain that my turn will come too.  This article tells you about Blitzkrieg the little Pekingese and how he was put on bed rest.

Our final article from the Lazy Man and Money covers a very important question with our current economy: How Much Does A Dog Cost? If you’re looking to get a dog this is a very important question to ask yourself because one of the top ten reasons dogs end up in shelters is that the cost of keeping the dog is two high for the owner.  This is a great article as the “Lazy Man” breaks down the initial expenses and recurring expenses a person will have when that person becomes a dog owner.  A quick not on this article: there are a ton of great comments after the article that raise some great points and offer additional information on how much a dog costs.

Thanks everyone for your submissions to the Puppy In Training Blog Carnival.  If you’re interested in submitting an article to our next blog carnival then please leave me a comment or send me a message through our contact form.

Puppy In Training Blog Carnival #4

Happy New Year to everyone and welcome back to another edition of the Puppy In Training Blog Carnival. We had a total of eleven articles submitted this month (yay a new record!), but some sites submitted multiple articles. Unfortunately we’re only allowing one article per website. Thank you everyone for your submissions and for those of you who submitted multiple articles I went ahead and posted my favorite article to this edition of the blog carnival.

Puppy In Training Blog Carnival #4

Our first article comes from the I, Me, Myself blog and is titled Defenseless Victims of Reckless Driving. Make sure you have your tissue box nearby as this tells a sad story of a “Defenseless” little puppy. Here’s a direct quote from the article: “I also hope that the readers of this blog-post will help spread the word around, since none of the animal-rights organisations in India seem to focus on prevention or to campaign for punitive legislation.”

You guys might get a kick out of the article Dogs Response to Recent Study Announcing Dogs Possess Sense of Fairness from the Small and Big blog. Check out the title of this article…it’s literally the “dogs response”

A little late for the holidays, but I think everyone will enjoy this little holiday video from the GrrrlScientist blog. Check out the video A Doggy Christmas Surprise. A definite must see if you’re missing the holidays.

The Pinoy Pet Blog has once again joined us here at the Puppy In Training Blog Carnival. This time around they are sharing some very important information on Pet Insurance. Check out their latest article Pet Dog Insurance: For Your Dog’s Sake.

Nancy’s Arts, Crafts, and Favorites writes about a topic that I’ve been thinking about for a while…Therapy Dog Certification. Libby the Maltipoo just gained her certification with TDI (Therapy Dogs International). Visit’s Nancy’s site at Therapy Dog Now Certified by TDI to find out more information.

There are many important aspects of dog ownership one of those being the subject or our next article: Dog Grooming. Check out the blog Thoughtfully Vikram… The latest blog article is called Dog Grooming Tips! Grooming My Dog! Grooming Your Dog How To! and does a thorough job of addressing the main areas of dog grooming. One important point I’d like to mention is regarding bathing your dog. Thoughtfully Vikram… mentions placing a rubber mat to prevent slipping. I must say this is very important because most dogs will be very uncomfortable in the tub to begin with…adding a slippery floor will just make things worse.

Our final article comes from the Breeds of Dog website and has to do with the all important subject of Potty Training Your Puppy. Some great tips on how to potty train your puppy and as the article mentions this is not always an easy process so be prepared when you bring home that new puppy. As a Guide Dog puppy raiser we are required to crate train our puppies.

Once again thanks to everyone for submitting your articles.  If you’d like to be a part of our next Blog Carnival then please leave me a comment in the comment section below.
