Dublin was quite the helper when he would come into the office with me, but part boxer? I don’t think so…Dublin was/is a purebred yellow Labrador Retriever bred at Guide Dogs of America.
Today Dublin is a working guide dog and we chronicled his entire journey in our Puppy In Training TV series.
If you have a moment take a look at Dublin’s videos as we tell his story from picking him up as a 7 week old puppy to guide dog graduation to visiting and watching him as a working guide dog.
This Puppy Is…Part Boxer!
I love that picture! Dublin helping out in the warehouse. If he didn’t continue on to his career as a guide dog maybe he could have worked the shipping department at Ascolta I’m sure they would have loved having Dublin as a permanent worker back there!
By the way, if you are interested in raising and training a guide dog puppy please feel free to contact me through our contact form and I can send you some details on how we started our journey as puppy raisers.
Just to let you know raising and training guide dog puppies has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life so if you’re a puppy or dog lover then please do yourself a favor and check your area for local service and guide dog schools that might offer puppy raising opportunities.
If you are considering puppy adoption, I highly recommend visiting one of your local puppy/dog rescues. In past articles I’ve talked to you about the puppy/dog rescue, Cuddly Canines. I want to do my best to help place these puppies by profiling each puppy, litter of puppies, and dogs on this blog.
***Note this dog may already be adopted as I will keep this information in my archive. Please check the Cuddly Canines website for the most recent puppies up for adoption.
Max The Boxer Mix Puppy
Max is a 7 month old, sweet, adorable Boxer mix with a happy disposition & an eagerness to please, who is looking for a home because his family decided they didn’t have time for him anymore. He is learning his basic commands & would no doubt excel in further obedience training. He gets along great with other dogs and would make a wonderful family pet.
What is a Boxer Mix?
Max is said to be a Boxer mix puppy. Because we know he might be mostly Boxer he may exhibit the temperament and traits of a Boxer.
AKC Boxer Breed Standard temperament:
The character of the Boxer is of the greatest importance and demands the most solicitous attention. He is renowned from olden times for his great love and faithfulness to his master and household. He is harmless in the family, but distrustful of strangers, bright and friendly of temperament at play, but brave and determined when aroused. His intelligence and willing tractability, his modesty and cleanliness make him a highly desirable family dog and cheerful companion. He is the soul of honesty and loyalty, and is never false or treacherous even in his old age.
