Are Golden Retriever Puppies The Cutest?

Maybe I’m biased, but I think Golden Retriever puppies are the cutest darn things ever!  Or maybe it’s just shiny new object syndrome because I’m pretty sure all puppies are cute.  Anyhow, you guys have to check out this picture of our latest shiny new object: Clover!

A soon to be new puppy owner found our site and had several questions for us about bringing home a new puppy.  We think that’s great because the more questions you get answered before you get your puppy the better off you are.

So without further adieu…introducing:

Clover The Golden Retriever Puppy

Are Golden Retrievers pups like Clover the cutest?

So what do you think?  Is she the cutest little thing ever?  Not sure yet.  Well take a look at this overhead shot:

Yep, she’s pretty darn cute.  We’ve been raising and training Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers for our guide dog school over the past 6 years.  We even had a Golden Retriever growing up.  A few years ago we compiled a list to try and figure out which dogs make good family dogs and once again Golden Retrievers rose to the top of the list!

Of course without teaching your puppy basic obedience, socialization, and good house manners  it doesn’t really matter what breed you bring home.  So make sure to start your training from day 1 (or even start reading up before you bring home your puppy like Clover’s family did) and stay consistent, persistent, and patient when training your puppy.

How about you guys?  We’d love to see pictures of your puppies!  If you’d like to share a picture of your puppy please feel free to post to our Facebook Timeline or upload one through our contact form.

  1. No, I really don’t like them. They are quite ugly in fact. Ha, just kidding! They are super cute – and I think I have one of the cutest! 😉

  2. They’re adorable! I remember when I told my dad that we need a glden retriever in our house. Of course, he didn’t like the idea. So here I am still wishing we can have one!

    1. I don’t think so. They’re all pretty darn cute. Yeah, you do see Golden Retrievers in the ads quite often. Another one I think I see fairly often are big, fluffy, Bernese Mountain Dog puppies…so adorable!

  3. Sampson is a golden retriever/lab mix and he is the most handsome dog (and the cutest puppy) I’ve ever seen.. 🙂

Clover sure is cute though. 🙂

    1. Sampson looked a heck of a lot like Derby when he was a puppy. In his puppy pics he almost looks like a purebred Lab. I’d have to agree that he is a handsome fellow!

    1. I think I’d have to agree! And I love the picture! Thanks Misty you’re going to have to teach me a thing or two about photography! 🙂

      1. Love to! Actually, at some point I’d love to be able to volunteer my photography services for one of the guide dog centers.

        1. I’m in Orange County, but the Guide Dog school that I volunteer with is Guide Dogs of America and is located in Sylmar, CA. If you’re interested in volunteering photography a good chance to meet some of the other volunteers and employees of the school is at the open house (usually the 2nd Saturday in June). If you have any questions about the school just let me know.

  4. My vote is an absolute YES! However, maybe I’m a bit biased as Clover’s “mommy”. Clover has been an amazing addition to our family. We’re all over-the-moon for our sweet girl. She’s already added so much richness to our lives in just 12 days! I’ve really found your site to be so helpful. As you mentioned, I’ve been frequenting it since well before we brought Clover home. I always find something new and I love coming back to reread things I’ve already learned, just to make sure I’m doing things correctly. Training Clover is truly important to me. I feel like all of the hard work it takes in the beginning will be so worth it in the long-run in helping shape a happy, healthy, well-adjusted member of the family. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with all of us puppy parents.

    1. Hi Misty,

I’m glad you found our blog! I totally agree with you! Putting all the effort in early on will help you raise and train a healthy, happy dog. I’m glad Clover has already brought so much joy to your family. One of my goals this year is to raise and train a Golden Retriever for one of a local Service Dog organizations so hopefully we’ll be seeing more pictures of Golden Retriever pups soon. Thanks so much for sharing your pictures and experiences with us.

      Take care,

    1. 🙂 We love Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers too. We’re probably a little biased since we’ve mostly been around Goldens and Labs for the past six years with an exception for Linus our Aussie mix rescue pup and a few German Shepherds.

    1. I haven’t met you, but from all the activity I see at your blog I think you still act like a puppy. And I love your Golden smile! Puts a smile on my face every time I visit your site!

  5. Well, I may be biased, but I love the name Clover. My 5 year old border terrier is “Clover”. And she was a pretty cute puppy, and has made some pretty cute puppies herself.

    1. I guess we’re both biased 🙂 I’m pretty sure all puppies are cute because every time I see one I have to post it to the blog or Facebook page!
